Every year the Texas School Public Relations Association honors outstanding contributions in education communications through the Star Awards. The 2021 awards were recently announced at TSPRA’s annual conference in late February.
Every entry from Midway ISD received a gold-standard score indicating top quality.
Director of Communications Traci Marlin won Best of Category in Marketing Campaigns for promoting transparency and community involvement in rezoning and received Crystal Commendation for Midway’s rezoning process. She also won the Platinum Award indicating the highest standard of excellence for leading district initiatives with communication planning.
Communications Systems Coordinator Robert Pryor won Best of Category in Video News and Information for Panther Nation News. He also received a Gold Star Award in the Video Promotional category for his video of kids reacting to Park Hill Elementary, and a Gold Star Award in the Video Training and Instructional Category for Midway Mindset.
Multimedia Specialist Katy Durham received a Gold Star Award in the Writing category for speech writing for the Superintendent’s 2021 Graduation Speech, “The Mountain.”
