Congratulations to the Midway High School Varsity Treble Choir on their selection as a Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Invited
Honor Choir for the 2022 Convention!
To be considered for this honor, the Midway Varsity Treble Choir along with many other Texas high school choirs submitted performance recordings from the past two years. The MHS Varsity Treble Choir, directed by Jannifer Rice, was selected as the only high school treble honor choir to perform at the upcoming convention.
The choir will perform on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at 7:30 p.m. in the Hemisfair Ballroom, part of the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas.
The Midway HS Choir program has an outstanding history of being selected as TMEA Honor Choirs. The Varsity Women’s Choir was last selected in 1996. Meistersingers, the varsity mixed choir, was selected in 2007, and the Varsity Men’s Choir was selected in 1998, 2011 and 2017. Each time a Midway choir is selected, it is a tremendous honor and represents the tradition of excellence in Midway High School choral music program.
