Five Midway High School Baseball seniors earned Academic All-State honors this year, with one being named to the Elite Team.
To be recognized on an Academic All-State Team, each of these players exhibited good moral character and earned an overall grade point average of 92 or above including courses from grades 9-11 and courses completed from grade 12. They also displayed excellence in their class rank and SAT and/or ACT scores.
The student-athletes receive points based on each criteria to determine which team they are placed on. The best team a player can make is the Elite Team followed by 1st Team, 2nd Team and Honorable Mention. To make the Elite team a player must have near perfect scores in all categories.
