MHS MCJROTC Program Top Ten In Four-Sate Region

In their first time competing at regionals, Midway High School MCJROTC students scored high among over 59 other programs across Region 5. Region 5 includes MCJROTC programs in Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi. Twenty-four of those programs qualified to comRegionalspete at regionals this March at Dayton High School.

Listed below are Midways final results:

  • Personnel Inspection-tied for 9th
    • Joey Wright scored 49 out of 50 points
    • Isidro Olvera scored 48 out of 50 points
  • Color Guard-18th
  • Armed Drill-3rd ¬†(trophy)
  • Armed Platoon Commander (Jasmin Martinez) tied for 1st with a perfect score of 50
  • Armed Exhibition-7th
  • Unarmed Drill-4th (2 points away from 3rd)
  • Unarmed Commander-Glenda Gutierrez placed 4th scoring 46 out of 50 poin
  • Unarmed Exhibition-12th
  • Overall-9th


Finishing within the top 10 in the region is an impressive feat for this new drill team. They are led by Senior Marine Instructor, Jeff Fischer.
