In their first time competing at regionals, Midway High School MCJROTC students scored high among over 59 other programs across Region 5. Region 5 includes MCJROTC programs in Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi. Twenty-four of those programs qualified to compete at regionals this March at Dayton High School.

- Personnel Inspection-tied for 9th
- Joey Wright scored 49 out of 50 points
- Isidro Olvera scored 48 out of 50 points
- Color Guard-18th
- Armed Drill-3rd (trophy)
- Armed Platoon Commander (Jasmin Martinez) tied for 1st with a perfect score of 50
- Armed Exhibition-7th
- Unarmed Drill-4th (2 points away from 3rd)
- Unarmed Commander-Glenda Gutierrez placed 4th scoring 46 out of 50 poin
- Unarmed Exhibition-12th
- Overall-9th
Finishing within the top 10 in the region is an impressive feat for this new drill team. They are led by Senior Marine Instructor, Jeff Fischer.
