Rising Star Lighting Up Midway ISD

Third annual honoree selected as Sharron Zachry Rising Star Award recipient

Congratulations to this year’s Sharron Zachry Rising Star Award recipient, Adam Miller! This 2011 Midway High School graduate has been recognized for his outstanding service as the Science Coordinator for Woodway Elementary School. Principals are allowed to nominate one employee from their campus for this award with eligibility requirements being they are a Midway graduate and have returned to serve the district within the last 0-2 years.

The Rising Star Award was established by Joe and Linda McKethan in order to honor their sister, Sharron McKethan Zachry. Sharron exemplified qualities, such as “bringing out the best in those around her”, that embody a natural born leader. This award recognizes teachers who have gone above and beyond in their first few years working with Midway, who display leadership qualities, and daily demonstrate their love for and dedication to the district. Adam Miller officially discovered that he was the recipient of this award last Friday, April 5, 2019, and will be recognized at the Showcase of Stars Banquet on May 16, 2019. In addition to this award, the recipient is given a $250 stipend, a tribute page in the Showcase program, a table at the Showcase of Stars, and an award statute. Way to go, Adam!
