Wilson Burnett, Junior
Wilson will be attending the Baylor String Quartet Camp in early June.
He will also attend Apple Hill Chamber Music Workshop in New Hampshire in mid to late June.
Apple Hill exists to create, perform, and teach chamber music at the highest standard, broaden the appreciation of chamber music through the development of educational programs
Wilson and a his group attended the workshop last year and were invited back this year to participate in a “fellowship” program, for an extended period of time. Wilson is the only high school student in the group; the other three are all college students.
In mid July-early August, Wilson will attend the Bowdin International Music Festival in Maine for intensive chamber music instruction.
The Bowdoin International Music Festival is one of the world’s premiere music institutes, providing an intensive and in-depth exploration of chamber and solo music.
Haeun Moon, Sophomore
Haeun Moon was selected to participate as one of ten young artists worldwide at the 2017 Starling DeLay Symposium on Violin Studies at the Julliard School.
“The Starling-DeLay Symposium on Violin Studies” was dedicated to fostering the legacy of the late renowned teacher, Dorothy DeLay. The Symposium is hosted biennially by the Julliard School and featured world-renowned artist-faculty teaching pedagogy and master classes, and performing in recitals, and this year it will take place May 30 through June 3.
Administrative Director at Julliard says ten Student Artists are selected from a large pool of extremely talented violinists worldwide by audition to perform in public master classes for the Artist-Faculty.
In addition to performing twice in master classes for two different teachers, Student Artists are featured in public performance on selected evening recitals in Paul Hall. The application specifies that “Preference is given to students currently enrolled in pre-college, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program, and Haeun was accepted as a High School student. Student Artists can participate all classes and recitals with no tuition.
