On Friday, January 30, more than forty community members from the greater Waco area volunteered to read to students at South Bosque Elementary.
Kindergarten classes listened to stories read by Baylor athletes, the Executive Director of a local charity, and a United States Marine Corps Staff Sergeant.
First grade students heard from Lady Bear basketball players, a local paleontologist and two KWTX reporters.
The second grade hosted local defense lawyers, Waco 100’s Zack and Jim, Baylor baseball players and a United States Marine Corps Sergeant.
Third grade students listened to books read by members of the sheriff’s office, KWTX, and Baylor soccer and softball teams.
Fourth graders enjoyed listening to books read by a Baylor women’s track team member, a former World Champion waterskier and members of the sheriff’s office.
