MHS Senior Sets School Records, Impresses at State Swim Meet

Midway High School senior swimmer Carson Blair made waves this year in his final high school swim season, competing at the UIL State Swim Meet and earning recognition as one of the top high school swimmers in Texas while breaking several school records—including his own—in the process.

Carson’s impressive season included a strong showing at the regional championships where he qualified for the state meet in the boys 100-yard freestyle, setting a new school record as regional champion. At the 6A State Swim Meet held in Austin, Texas, Carson swam yet another personal best, breaking his own record and finishing 17th overall in the event.

At the state championship, Carson also shone in the 200-yard individual medley where he swam another personal best and once again broke his own school record, finishing 20th overall.

In addition to his individual achievements, Carson anchored the 200-yard freestyle relay team, helping to break yet another school record at the regional championships.

The MHS swim team is led by head coach Dan Marlin and assistant coach Kayla Stanford.
