Krista has previously been awarded 1st place in Advanced Office Systems and 2nd place in Video Production at the regional BPA competition. She has also been an area qualifier in the Visual Arts Scholastic Event for the last two years.

Krista’s favorite teacher is Tanya Lacy. Lacy has been at Midway High School for 27 years and has taught AV production for the last eight.

“Krista is one of the most talented students to come through the AV program since its inception. She is an extremely hard worker and is very talented in after effects and we’ll be using her After Effects work and ideas for years to come,” Lacy said.

Krista transferred from Catholic Schools in Missouri to attend Midway High School starting freshman year.

“It has given me a chance to explore things that I never thought I would have a chance to do,” Krista said. She said she’ll miss her time at Midway— the people more than anything else.

“Midway High School AV has allowed me to work with people I would not have usually worked with,” she said.

With a talent for graphic design, videography, and art, Krista says she is most passionate about art. She is in the highest level AV class taught by Tanya Lacy and the advanced art class taught by Caleb Bales.

She plans to attend Full Sail University, a top entertainment and media production school based in Florida, to study visual effects and motion graphics. She hopes to pursue a career as a visual effects artist for movies.
