Education Foundation Designates $100,000 for Classroom Grants

The Midway ISD Education Foundation met Jan. 27 for their annual meeting to review the past year and to determine fund allocation for the coming year. The Board determined that they will be able to give out over $100,000 in proposed grant and program expenses in the coming year.

Brian Bachik discusses the financial overview.

This is just another huge step made by the Foundation in making a difference in the school district’s classrooms. Since its establishment in 1999 the Foundation has given over $1.3 million in grants to the schools in the district.

There were also a few changes on the executive committee. While the Foundation says good-bye and thank you to the outgoing members, the Foundation is overjoyed to welcome in the new ones. Thank you to outgoing president, Brian Bachik, and good-bye and thank you to directors Betsy Reeder, Lisa Segerson, and Mark Strouse for all of your hard work and dedication to the Foundation. Without them the Foundation would not be where it is today, and the Foundation appreciates all that they have done. The Foundation is excited to announce our new officers, and is more than ready to see what will come of this New Year.
