HOT Fair and Rodeo Announces Winners!

Heart O’ Texas Fair & Rodeo announced the winners in the HOT Fair and Rodeo Western Heritage Photography contest along with various Academic fields on Sept. 27. The winners of the Rodeo Western Heritage Photography contest will be honored at an award ceremony on Saturday, Oct. 4, at 12:30 p.m. in the creative arts building.

First and second place winners of the Photography contest won scholarship money, with second place receiving $500 and first place receiving $1,000. The five winners of the contest, in order from first to fifth place, are: Morgan Warren ($1,000 scholarship), Aleena Stephens ($500 scholarship), Sarah Zylberfuden, and Haley Groves. Make sure to go support the winners on Oct. 4, at 12:30 p.m.!

There were various category winners for the 2014 Academic Rodeo. The categories were as follows:

  • Overall Grand Champion
  • Overall Reserve Grand Champion
  • Magazine Ad
  • Newspaper
  • Radio
  • Television Ad (Video)

The Overall Grand Champion winners were Jack Saxon, Andrew Dittmann, Garrett Williams and Cade Tindell in the category of Television Ad (Video). The Overall Reserve Grand Champion is Jordan Turner in the Magazine Ad category.

For the category of Magazine Ad, the winners are: Champion, Jordan Turner; Reserve Champion, Jarrod Barton; Third Place, Katherine Moseman. In the Newspaper category, the winners are: Champion, Liesje Powers; Reserve Champion; Mariela Ortiz.

The three students who placed in the Radio category are: Champion, Christiana Kaul, Reserve Champion, Laura Dreiwtz, Third Place, Katherine Browning. In Television Ad (Video), the following students placed: Champion, Jack Saxon, Andrew Dittmann, Garrett Williams, and Cade Tindell; Reserve Champion, Nathan McBride and Samuel Sengoll; Third Place, Jonathan Ly.
