Making history with state silver

Congratulations to the Midway High School Panther Football Team! The boys had a strong 13-3 season, finishing in Midway’s first ever appearance in the state finals. Unfortunately, Lake Travis won 22-7, earning their fifth straight 4A state title. The state silver denotes Midway’s highest finish in football in school history.

More than 33,000 people attended the state game at the Dallas Cowboy Stadium in Arlington, plus the game was nationally televised on Fox Sports. Midway stepped up to the audience’s expectations to deliver an exciting, competitive game that was closer than the final score indicated.

“Our kids and coaches represented Midway with class and in the proper spirit of competition,” said Athletic Director Randy Weisinger. “We are proud of all their accomplishments and a great season.”
